The Dark Knight Rises Review & Superman Trailer Revealed

We lined with fellow Bat fans today to catch the midnight showing of the Dark Knight Rises. There have been many rumors about the third film, including it’s finality in the trilogy. We’ll get to that a little later. The Dark Knight Rises contains the same suspense, depth and story twist we were hoping since 2008’s The Dark Knight. The story takes place eight years later and Gotham city has found peace since Batman’s (Christian Bale) sacrifice was made. Bruce Wayne is virtually handicapped and retired, but brings it upon himself face incredibly harsh odds as the mysterious Bane (Tom Hardy) appears to rule over the city.

Bane is intimidating and you aren’t always sure what he’s going to do. As you watch him commit his dastardly deeds you’re hoping to see a confrontation between Bane and Batman go down. That first meeting does not go so well and a certain cat burglar (Anne Hathaway) is to blame for it. If you’ve read Batman: Knight Fall you can see references taken from the comics, something that I’ve enjoyed about Chris Nolan’s willingness to do his homework on the history of Batman and weave in a continuity to the books we read.

So what about the end of the trilogy? I like to believe the film opens more doors than simply closing a chapter in the life of Batman / Bruce Wayne. There are some notable characters that appear in the movie that will have you cheering them on and you’ll be rewarded with the discoveries of who they are and what it means for the future.

In short, it’s what we hoping to see and it takes us on roads that we were not expecting, but we’re glad to be a part of that ride! The Dark Knight Rises to our expectations.

We were also treated to the Man of Steel trailer in the previews for upcoming attractions. In the credits for Man of Steel, Christopher Nolan is listed as a producer.
